XVth Century Banners - Burgundian Companies banners - Type I

J'ai réuni dans une seule planche l'ensemble des bannières de compagnies de Type I que j'ai réalisé pour les armées Bourguignonnes.  Il s'agit principalement des grandes bannières issues des principales sources de l'époque. Elles ont été recensée dans l'ouvrage de FreezyWater qui reprend un grand nombre de bannières. Lorsque cela a été possible, je me suis néanmoins penché sur les sources primaires des FahnenBuch. 

Pour rappel l'ensemble des Bannières ont été décrites dans un texte de Commynes décrivant en détail la couleur et les Saints tutélaires des 20 premières compagnies. Malheureusement nous ne disposons pas des description des autres compagnies antérieures et ultérieures. 

De toutes celles qui ont été retrouvées ou qui ont été recopiées correspondent à quelques détails près aux descriptions. C'est ce que qui permet de rattacher l'image de la bannière prise par Jeanne la Hachette lors du Siège de Beauvais en 1472 à celle de la 20eme Compagnie de Saint Laurent. 

I have put together in a single plate all the banners of Type I companies that I made for the Burgundian armies.  It is mainly the large banners from the main sources of the time. They have been listed in the FreezyWater book which contains a large number of banners. When it was possible, I nevertheless looked at the primary sources of the FahnenBuch. 

As a reminder, all the banners were described in a text by Commynes describing in detail the color and the tutelary saints of the first 20 companies. Unfortunately we do not have the descriptions of the other earlier and later companies. 

Of all those that have been found or copied correspond to a few details of the descriptions. This is what allows us to link the image of the banner taken by Jeanne la Hachette during the
